Founder - Scott Crandall
Scott and his family started farming a 50 acre certified organic farm in California’s Central Valley, where they struggled with depleted soils that had been farmed conventionally for at least 50 years. Starting out as a farmer, Scott decided to take an alternative approach to fertilizer use.
Unsatisfied with the organic fertilizers available on the market, Scott started to develop his own recipes and products. Through the study of agronomy, botany, plant physiology, soil microbiology and constant iteration, Scott continued to optimize his fertilizer production process. Further pursuing research into effective and efficient approaches to bolstering plant and soil health, he studied the work of Dr. William Albrecht and Dr. Rudolph Steiner.

Dr. William Albrecht was one of the premier soil scientists at the University of Missouri and was dismayed by the rapid chemicalization of farming that followed WWII. Instead of focusing on NPK formulas (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium), Albrecht focused on developing the ideal Base Cation Saturation Ratio in soil through soil mineralization.
Concurrently, Scott observed many benefits in his fertilizer production and farming from Dr. Rudolph Steiner’s insights on agriculture. Scott started incorporating Steiner’s practices with fermented preparations, foliar feeding, and crop timing. Adding the BioDynamic preparations to mineralized compost and castings improved fertilizer quality and gave Scott a new avenue to further advance his products. Agrow Synergy is the result of these advancements.
